YANCY is a male, possibly Bernese Mountain Dog mix. He is 2-3 years old and weighs about 50-55 pounds. He is still a little timid around people, but is quickly learning to trust us humans. He is getting better every day at walking on leash and should continue to improve with time. He was found in a local neighborhood after an encounter with a skunk. That lovely odor is almost undetectable now...and we're all really glad ! He has a thick coat and would tolerate being outside, but would need to have good shelter of be brought in the house on coldest days. YANCY is learning to trust us humans more every day and is beginning to enjoy leaning ... (Read More)into us as we pet him. He gets along well with other dogs that are beside him in the outdoor runs. YANCY is ready for adoption. If you think he would make a good addition to your family, please call one of the numbers below or come by the shelter during walk-in hours. NOTE: Our dogs (Less)

PLEASE PLEASE SHARE - THIS DUDE NEEDS A HOME! Ben, affectionately known as 'Big Ben,' comes with a pretty amazing story. Ben lived with his owner, whom he loved very much and who loved him, for the fiprst four years of his life. She was elderly, and he was her constant companion. He also, unfortunately, learned some very bad habits as his owner grew ill. He didn't like strangers in his house, he didn't like people trying to force him to do something he didn't want to (like go outside or get into a crate), and therefore become a lot for his elderly owner to handle. The family had to seek training for him, because hospice care and cleaning ... (Read More)staff would be entering the home on a regular basis, and Ben needed to be tolerant and manageable. Sadly, Ben lost his beloved owner to cancer while he was away at his training facility. Ben is blessed and lucky to have a family dedicated to finding him a good home and equipping him to lead a good life. Ben has been given 4+ months (16 weeks +) of residential obedience and behavior modification training. Ben is a completely different dog today. He is still skittish of unfamiliar settings, but he is also disciplined and listens well. He is learning that people come with great things, like love and treats! He has worked hard on his obedience, and knows to heel, sit with a stay, down with a stay, and place. Ben's superpower is that he bonds very tightly to his person. Ben is handsome, fun, exuberant but overall pretty medium-to-low energyHe has a lot of love to give, and is very enthusiastic about training. He has bright eyes and a happy smile, and his wagging nubbin of a tail is a delight. He has a strong will (and needs strong leadership). He is very bright and learns quickly! There never was a happier, goofier boy. Ben needs a home--but not just any home. The right home will be rewarded with an amazing dog who will give back one hundred times what is invested in him. But the right home needs to be prepared to commit to Ben, and maintain all the hard work he has done the last four or so months. If that happens, Ben's story will have a 'happily ever after.' Could you be the one?! Please email if you want to be considered for his forever home. We will check references, vet records, etc. to ensure he gets the best home ever! Thanks so much, I look forward to hearing from you. (Less)

URGENT FOR A FOSTER OR BETTER YET A FOREVER HOME FOR THIS SENIOR QUEEN!! Queen Khaleesi #17491 - Adult Mountain Dog mix - Queen Khaleesi is a regal full figured goddess of a dog. She is very quiet and demure and actually just seems depressed by her surroundings. She came in as a stray and I'm sure she's wondering where her family is. I mean how can they not be missing this gorgeous gal? She is very laid back and gets along with all the other dogs. If she were a smaller dog, you wouldn't even know she was around but she is hard to miss as she is quite stunning! She could stand to lose a few pounds but actually she is just more dog to ... (Read More)love, right? I never heard her bark---mostly she just looked at us with those sad pleading eyes. She did perk up when she came out to the play yard and even explored a little bit. She deserves a palace, not a shelter so please drop by and meet her today. She will steal your heart! The vet thinks she is about ten years old and is hypo thyroid, but they have meds for her. Bless her heart-she needs a calm safe environment. She just shuts down in the shelter-so very sad for her. She's such a great dog'|..a real heartbreaker. Please contact for more information!! (Less)
